UV

Ultraviolet energy is emitted from low pressure mercury lamps and these germicidal lamps are made of special hard glass which allows short wavelength ultraviolet energy to pass through, mainly with a wavelength of 254 nm. This light has the unique ability to kill all microorganisms it comes into contact with. It strikes bacteria, viruses, yeast, molds, algae, etc., breaking the outer membrane and penetrating into the core of the organism known as the nucleus-CAN, destroying it.
